Bio - Roger Bowley

I've worked in the broadcast, media, audio, and telco industries for over 40 years, driven by a passion for emerging technology, its commercial application, and the wider impact it has on how we live, work, and communicate.

My approach is sales lead, technology and market driven and I'm proud to have held roles at BT, Virgin, TSS, Quantel, Snell & Wilcox, Marquis, Grass Valley (Omnibus, Miranda, and Belden), AWS, and ES Broadcast. I am now excited to be launching "Long Bridges", supplying sales & marketing expertise on a freelance consultancy basis, specialising in the media and broadcast industries.

Starting out in engineering, I developed a strong technical foundation that continues to shape my thinking today. As my career progressed into sales and marketing roles, I’ve combined my commercial and technology know how to consistently meet and exceed objectives and targets, helping deliver innovative, disruptive, cutting-edge, and forward looking solutions.

My experience working in startups and global brands enables me to understand how complex organisations function, and so build strong, trusted relationships to drive immediate actions, supporting long term results. I specialise in working with enterprise clients, at all seniority levels, and across technical, operational, creative, and commercial teams. I aim to show leadership within an organisation through collaboration with cross-functional teams, to deliver high quality solutions that secure repeat, profitable, and sustainable business.

I'm happiest working at the intersection of strategy, technology, and creativity delivering production solutions spanning the full content lifecycle, from content production, through processing, and distribution. I've been lucky to live through what's been a period of profound change giving rise to advanced technology products and integrated solutions, which I'm excited to say, shows no sign of slowing.
